My Ten Favorite Top Ten Topics We've Ever Done In the Past 5 Years
Considering I've only started participating in the Top Ten Tuesdays hosted by The Broke and the Bookish very recently, I think my list was an easy one to make. And so it makes the title to this post quite appropriate too. Because I discovered the Top Ten Tuesdays meme sometime last year (2014) at the beginning of the fall season, then decided to jump on the bandwagon a couple months later.
To be honest, there is no rhyme or reason why I chose certain Top Ten Tuesdays posts over others--maybe I reread them more times than others, maybe I liked the topic more than others... maybe that list had just been easier to make than others.
I don't know.
10/23/2014: Top New Series I Want to Start (New... like within the last year or two)
-- This was the first Top Ten Tuesdays topic I published and so it holds sentimental value. I personally feel like I've listed a lot of good series here for anyone's reading list. Just as well, as of present day, I've managed to tackle a good number of the series I listed, even if I haven't finished them all.
12/9/2014: Top Ten New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2014
-- I know I got really wordy with this Top Ten topic, but I liked it mainly because it gave me a chance to wax poetic about a lot of new favorite authors of mine and why I like them. And through this list, I discovered that it is entirely possible to love an author even if you don't think all of his/her books are the bee's knees.
12/16/2014: Top Ten Books I Read in 2014
-- Another list of books I enjoyed writing, though I admit that this had been a hard list to put together. Top Ten Favorite or Best books read in 2014? Give me a Top Twenty list and I might have had an easier time writing it.
12/30/2014: Top Ten Goals/Resolutions for 2015
-- I just liked this particular list. Sometimes it's nice to be able to talk about yourself, even if the underlying context is still about books.
2/3/2015: Top Ten Fantasy Novels I Want to Read
-- This is a "just because" choice for this topic. I just happen to like the list I made.
3/24/2015: Top Ten Books From My Childhood (or teen years) That I Would Love to Revisit
-- This was actually the very first Top Ten list I wrote when I first discovered the meme. I saw a similar topic among the long list of Top Ten Tuesday topics and it got my brain going. I also saw a similar topic being discussed on Facebook among a lot of friends and so I sat down and started writing and brainstorming, but the list continued to sit in a drafted state in my Google Documents "Planned Posts" files. I like the list I made, honestly, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to use it.
4/14/2015: Top Ten Inspiring Quotes from Books
-- There is no reason for this Top Ten being chosen. I just happened to like it.
4/21/2015: Top Ten ALL TIME Favorite Authors (top 20 or narrowed genre optional)
-- This is, again, a means for me to gush about favorite authors (both all-time and recent obsessions). It's a very extensive and wordy list with lots of words.
4/28/2015: Top Ten Books Which Feature Characters Who ________
-- This was a hard topic to draft since I have issues with those fill-in-the-blank semi-freebie topics. I made a long list of ways to finish this topic's sentence, then I finally just randomly chose "Top Ten Books Which Feature Characters Who Investigate Things" or something like that. I thought it would be a skimpy and blah post, but I ended up liking my list anyway.
6/9/2015: Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases for the Rest of 2015
-- This was a hard list to make, but in the end, I ended up very much liking the list. Simple as that.

I had also wanted to go through all of The Broke and the Bookish's previous topics throughout their five years and choose some topics I'd be interested in participating in as part of this list... then I got lazy and decided that that was too much work. After all, I've got a lot of other blog posts that need writing and a lot of books that need to be read.
