Top Ten Tuesdays is an original and weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

As I mentioned in the previous Top Ten Tuesday post, I always want to read newly published books for the current year, but that is something that doesn't always happen.  Money is an issue, time is an issue...  My own mood and ever-changing TBR list is always an issue.

And so despite the fact that I kept telling myself I would read and/or finish a specific book by a specific time (specifically the "2014 books I would love to read in 2014" persuasion), it doesn't always happen that way.

Once again, I have a list that was extremely hard to narrow down into a list of ten, so I tried my best, but there are still so many more books I could add to this list.  This list isn't in any particular order.

-- Honorable Mentions --

Mistwalker by Saundra Mitchell

Hollow City (Book 2 of Miss Peregrine) by Ransom Riggs

By the time I finished listing all the 2014 releases I had wanted to read before the year was over, I had over 50 books.  And so then I had to set about eliminating the ones that I really only had a passing interest in, and then narrow down the list some more.

It wasn't easy, but there you have it--my Top Ten... and then three other books I couldn't leave off my list.
