If you go to the link to my 2014 TBR Pile Challenge above, you'll note that this is the one and only Reading Challenge in 2014 that I did not finish. Using that as my springboard, I've decided to re-compile a list that includes books that I will be more likely to read, but also of books that have been sitting on my TBR Pile for quite some time.

The details of the challenge can be found at Roof Beam Reader's site, linked above. But the main basis of this challenge is to choose and read 12 books that have been sitting on your TBR Pile for at least one year--meaning that only books published before January 1, 2014 may be listed.

I'm going to try to participate a little bit better this year. Despite the huge number of books I managed to read in 2014, I only finished reading 8 of my chosen books--and one of them ended up being one of the two alternate choices.

As an attempt to read the rest of those books, I'm rolling over select ones (there are two that I tried to start reading, but couldn't get far enough into the book to even constitute having "started" reading it--one of these two I officially chose to drop).

Looks like we're doing one book a month. At this rate, I may actually finish my entire TBR Pile Challenge this year... as opposed to last year's failed attempt.

Two books this month with one of them being an alternate. A little less than half the year is over and I'm already halfway through my TBR Pile this year. I have plans to read at least one of my TBR Pile books each month, and everything's looking good so far.

I think it kind of helps that I've crossed some books on this list with my Reading Assignment Challenge list--it gives me more reason to get certain books read.

This month was a little slow. With Real Life obligations and such, I'm even slacking on my more lax reading list... and then there was that spontaneous library check-out binge that resulted in 7 books, on top of the four Reading Assignment Challenge books I was to read.

And because other books have been slow-going, so has the reading progress. At the rate I'm going this month, I will probably not be completing any books for this challenge. But since I'm already halfway to completion, I guess i can afford to slack off a little bit. We'll pick up the pace in the next few months.

I think I may have mapped out the rest of my reading list in terms of this TBR Pile challenge. And I'm thinking at least one book a month from this list might do it. Hopefully.

This wasn't the TBR Pile book I had been planning to read this month, but it happened. It will more than likely be the only TBR Pile book I read this month for reasons. But so far, at least I'm doing a lot better than I did last year.

One more down and three more to go. There is one other book on this list that crosses over with another reading challenge, so after that, I'm going to have to crack down and decide which TBR Pile Challenge book to choose afterwards. At least two of them are hovering in my reading list as a priority... but then that's also among a lot of other books that my mood is dictating me to read. Le sigh...

Once again, I have read no books toward my 12 TBR book goal. And I have this nagging feeling that, aside the books that are crossover books for different reading challenges, I'm not going to be finishing the rest.
