Please ignore the clutter in the background.
So I had plans to go to the library and check out four books and this is what ended up happening. Aside from four books, I ended up with three extra. And on top of that, I got a new set of library cards.
After hearing from a coworker that she had just gotten her daughter a library card, she then proceeded to show me the little key tag that comes with library cards now. I was ecstatic about it and so on a whim, while at one of three libraries I visited today, I asked about the key tag and then ended up getting one.
The card on the right is my old card that I've had since 1996 -- if you look closely enough, you'll notice that it's starting to turn yellow. The card on the left looks much different and comes with the key tag -- new card. The old card will be going into a scrapbook at some point when I get around to making a scrapbook since there's enough sentimental value in that card that it feels weird just throwing it away.
The only downside is that my library card number changes, which means I'll have to re-memorize it. The combination of numbers isn't too weird, and the first six numbers are the same anyway, so it shouldn't take long.
And now I have a key tag! So convenient if I don't feel like carrying my wallet with me everywhere.
As for the books, I have four weeks to finish reading them, so let's see how this pans out!
And if anyone is wondering, the books include:
Mariah Stewart's Dead series
Cindy Pon's Kingdom of Xia duology
Antigoddess by Kendare Blake
