Froi of the Exiles: The Lumatere Chronicles - Melina Marchetta

I started off being less enthusiastic about this book than I had expected -- not sure where that came from.  Of course, real life has been a bit "ick" lately and sleep has not been my best friend (when has it ever been, really?), so I've been a bit draggy on the reading front.

But as soon as I started reading Froi of the Exiles, it was like that little Reading Fairy took her position next to my head and made that connection between my mind and the book.

I love it so far.  Part 1 came and went before I even realized it and I find myself looking forward to what will happen next and how Froi's adventure will pan out.  I find myself still loving the characters from the first book, Finnikin of the Rock.  And surprising even myself, a character I didn't even really care for from the first book is really starting to grow on me, even after only few chapters into the book.

I might even go as far as to say that I'm liking this one a bit more than I liked the first book (which was pretty awesome in its adventurously, awesomely awesomeness).

So here's to a magical journey in this continuation of Lumatere Chronicles, and I'm even already looking forward to getting to the last book and final conclusion.

Let the journey of Froi into Charyn territory begin.  I have a feeling this will be an emotionally heart-wrenching adventure for him and I am standing 100% ready to take it all!
