The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 4th and runs through Sunday, January 10th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 15 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Some book reading. Some moping--internet connection has been spotty lately and makes it hard to prepare any blogs for posting. I guess it gives me an excuse to spend time reading instead of planning posts and making lists and general lurking of other book blogs.
Update for Sunday 1/10/2015 and overall summaries
- Day 10 Totals:
Read about 6 pages of The Apprentice. Did not listen to any of Let's Pretend This Never Happened. See below: Books I'm Currently Reading.

The Way Home by Cindy Gerard
The Immortal Heights by Sherry Thomas
Followed by Frost by Charlie N. Holmberg

- Pages Read, Summary Total:
1407 Total Pages Read -- (1363) pages are from finished books.
- Approximate Time Spent Reading, Summary Total:
30+ hours is probably the best estimate I can give for how many hours I spent reading for the Bout of Books Read-a-thon week, mainly based on how long it takes me to read a typical 300 page book with and without distractions.

A Bout of Books Summary
I managed to start reading all the books I had planned and hoped to read during the Bout of Books Read-a-thon week. Of course, I may have gotten side-tracked a few times, but ultimately, I stayed on schedule. I had hoped I'd be able to add more books to this list, but being realistic about it, I didn't even try.
It was a fun week, sharing progress and posting short blogs. I found myself conscientious about trying to squeeze in as much reading as I could before the end of each day--though that's nothing new since I do the same thing when the end of the month rolls around.
I'm making plans to participate in at least one more of the Bout of Books this year, or maybe both of the other two. We'll see. Gonna also keep an eye out for other read-a-thons as they DO give you a whole other reason to want to do more reading during the days.
As it stands, it looks like I simply finished as many books as I normally do in a week--well, what I normally finish if I'm enjoying the books I'm reading. Other times, if I'm not enjoying a book, it shows, because I won't finish a book for a week or two, or I'll only finish one book while I struggle to finish the book I'm not getting into.
Only Dead by Wednesday had that affect on me in the past week, but being a short, easy read, I tumbled through that one okay.
Hope anyone else participating had fun and got a lot of reading done as well.
