11 - Kylie Brant

"There's a man here to see you.  He doesn't have an appointment, but he's insistent that you'll meet with him."

"Does he have a name?"

"Adam Raiker."

And here I thought I was simply excited when I discovered that Kylie Brant had a new release.  Now I learn, 2% into the book, that this stand alone crime thriller has ties to the Mindhunters series?

I mean, it's Adam Raiker!  Grand Poo-bah of the Mindhunters team.  Will we get to see more of him?  Is he only going to appear for a brief cameo at the intro of this book?  Will we see others of the Mindhunters team?

Bring it!

Granted, 11 isn't really a new release since it came out last year.  But my bookish stalking wasn't at my best yet and I had recently been made aware of Kylie Brant's newest Romantic Suspense by actually stumbling over it on a recommended reads section.  So much for being a big fan.

I will be taking steps to rectify my fangirl online bookish stalking methods this year, I promise.

Anyway, I'm excited enough to read another Kylie Brant book, and although it took a little while, I've finally made some time to get started on 11.  Let the suspenseful crime thriller roll.  I've seen a lot of good reviews for this book and I personally like Kylie Brant anyway.  And this will be a good way to hype myself up for the approaching release of an official Mindhunters installment at the end of this month.

And after spending so much time on mediocre to "I just didn't like it", draggy YA books I had to force myself to read, I think it's time to go back to a book in my go-to comfort genre for some enjoyment.

Not that I haven't been rereading all of Pamela Clare's I-Team books (via audio book form) during my commutes and at the gym for the past two weeks, breezing right through them...  In preparation for the eighth book in the series, that is.  That's right.
