Top Ten Books I'd Love To See As Movies/TV Shows

I'm honestly not much for the whole "Books to Movie and/or TV series" fan.  I like books.  I like to read.  I like movies, but I haven't seen one since the first Avengers movie.  I haven't really been into TV all that much either.

So I took myself back in time to those days when I had always gotten excited about some of my favorite books (or manga series) got turned into either an anime series or a live action something or other.

And then I gave this list a bit of thought and came up with something sort of substantial.

Books to Movies

Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale

Princess Academy by Shannon Hale

by Sherry Thomas

The Elemental Trilogy

The Burning Sky

The Perilous Sea

The Immortal Heights

If anything, fantasy books often make pretty good movies.  At least the story line and the adventures will keep people's attention.  I'd love to see any of the above books as a movie, especially The Elemental Trilogy, even if the story progress itself may be a bit slow at first.

Books to TV series

by Kay Hooper

The Bishop/Special Crimes Unit series

by Robert Galbraith (a.k.a. J.K. Rowling)

the Cormoran Strike series

Either of the two above series, I think, would make for a pretty interesting television series, if only because crime mysteries are all the trend now-a-days anyway.  I would definitely like to watch a live action Cormoran Strike being his charmingly, snarky self while solving murders.  I would also love to see any of the Bishop/SCU story lines brought to life.  And the best part is, even without more books, just the concepts of each of these series alone would be enough to continue the television series by itself.

Books to Anime

The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani

The Archived by Victoria Schwab

I've thought about this for a bit and I think that the above two books would make interesting animated films.  The School for Good and Evil would actually make an excellent Japanese anime film.  They just seem to have the right tone and elements.

by Marissa Meyer

The Lunar Chronicles series

The Lunar Chronicles would be perfect for an anime series--and I definitely mean a Japanese anime series.  Like the other two books, this series just has that tone and style that reminds me of anime anyway.

~ Honorable Mentions ~

Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers

Fairest by Gail Carson Levine

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman

by Leslie A. Kelly (Leslie Parrish)

Cold Sight

Fade to Black

Pitch Black

Black at Heart

The above books would make a good set of movies.  Fantasy movies and crime mystery movies.  Those are always the best.

by Marie Lu

Legend trilogy

Legend

Prodigy

Champion

The above books would be an interesting anime series, I think.  The tone and the atmosphere just screams ANIME all over it.

by Kylie Brant

Mindhunter series

Kylie Brant's Mindhunter series would make a good television series, much for the same reasons why Cormoran Strike or Bishop/SCU would make a good television series.
